The United States has agreed to include Indonesia in a debt-for-nature swap that will involve US$19.6 million of the country's debt to the U.S. being used to finance tropical forest conservation programs. The U.S. Embassy here said in a statement that under the Tropical Forest Conservation Act (TFCA), a portion of Indonesia's debt could be reduced and re-directed to finance conservation of the country's tropical forest, considered as one of the world's largest and most diverse.

Dear readers,

Again, the death of children under five years as result of malnutrition is happening in Indonesia, precisely in Bone, South Celebes. Also reported, previously 25 toddlers in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) pass away because of the same reason. Ironic, since this reality happens when the government often states that the economics of Indonesia grows very well, with level of growth above 6%. However, in fact, many children pass away because of famine. At the same time in Japan, a meeting between the developed nations G8 is performed where one of the agenda is the world food crisis. G8 intensively offers market mechanism to overcome food crisis. Though, the market also has a role in agriculture system failure in the world third nations, so that poverty and famine arise, especially in countryside. Thanks for reading...
